Conducted at the Institut Curie, Daniele Fachinetti's (PhD) team's work, on Molecular Mechanisms of Chromosome Dynamics, represents a significant advance in our understanding of the basic architecture and molecular organization of human centromeres. The most recent work appeared March 22, 2022 in Molecular Cell, and provides implications on the importance of DNA topology for centromeric regulation and stability, resembling those of other repetitive regions of the human genome, such as telomeres and transposons.
