Thursday Awards Ceremonies at Precision Medicine World Conference (PMWC 2024)

On Thursday, January 25, the second day of the Precision Medicine World Conference (PMWC) 2024in Silicon Valley, opened with awards ceremonies in four of the multiple topic categories. In the “Gene-Modified Cell Therapies” track, Stanley Riddell, MD, Professor at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, and George Coukos, MD, PhD, Director of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research were both recognized with Pioneer Awards. Dr. Riddell was awarded for his pioneering work in the field of gene-modified cell therapies, particularly CAR-T cells. Dr. Coukos was awarded for his exemplary work in cancer immunotherapy, including the development of adoptive T cell therapies for solid tumors and ground-breaking cancer vaccine trials. After this award ceremony, Dr. Coukos gave a keynote address, entitled “Engineering Synthetic T-Cell States for Cancer Rejection.”
