Sensational 6-Day AACR 2024 Annual Meeting Closes with Plenary, Research Sessions, a Poem to AI, and Meeting Wrap-Up

The sixth and final day (Wednesday) of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) 2024 annual meeting (April 5-10) in San Diego was another triumphant day of amazing science for the 23,000-person audience and 200 attending members of the press. An opening plenary on artificial intelligence (AI) that included a poem to AI, was followed by 14 simultaneous sessions on a range of exciting cancer topics, including precision medicine, biology and treatment strategies for IDH-mutant cancers, cancer metabolism across scales: from organelles to organisms, novel immune checkpoints: beyond PD1 and CTLA4, the tumor microbiome, and a number more. These simultaneous sessions were followed by a closing plenary featuring a meeting wrap-up and highlights provided by program organizers and intrepid scientists who took on the task of summarizing six days of incredibly packed action.
