New Study Provides Valuable Information on DNA Methylation and Gene Expression in Children; Findings Could Become Powerful Tool to Better Understand Association Between Environmental Exposures in Childhood, Epigenetic Changes, and Disease

A new study led by the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal), an institution supported by “la Caixa” Foundation, identifies associations between DNA methylation patterns and gene expression levels in blood samples from children. The findings, published on March 18, 2022 in eLife, provide researchers with a powerful tool to better understand the association between early environmental exposures, epigenetic changes, and disease. The open-access article is titled “Identification of Autosomal Cis Expression Quantitative Trait Methylation (Cis eQTMs) in Children’s Blood.”
