In 1948, the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) was established to lead research, education, and service in human genetics. In 2023, over three quarters of a century later, there have been countless breakthroughs in research, diagnostics, and treatment, collaborations around the world, and lives changed for all people due to genetics and genomics research. ASHG will mark its 75th anniversary this year with the motto “One Humanity, Many Genomes,” as we are more similar than we are different. In understanding our health, our genetic differences impact disease risk and are greatly influenced by our environment. The 2023 ASHG Annual Meeting will run from Wednesday, November 1, through Sunday, November 5.
