American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Announces 33 New Fellows of AACR Academy Class of 2022; Electees Include Anne-Lise Børresen-Dale, Ira Mellman, and Nobelist Hamilton O. Smith; Work of Fellows Has Significantly Accelerated Pace of Progress Against Cancer and Served As Inspiration for Countless Cancer Researchers

On March 22, 2022, the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) announced its newly elected class of Fellows of the AACR Academy. The mission of the AACR Academy is to recognize and honor distinguished scientists whose scientific contributions have propelled significant innovation and progress against cancer. Fellows of the AACR Academy serve as a global brain trust of top contributors to cancer science and medicine who help advance the mission of the AACR to prevent and cure all cancers through research, education, communication, collaboration, science policy and advocacy, and funding for cancer research. The AACR has over 50,000 members worldwide and the AACR Annual Meeting 2022 just concluded on April 13 in New Orleans. The sessions can be viewed on the virtual platform by registered meeting participants through July 13, 2022. Registration can be done here. Over 19,000 scientists and physicians registered for this premier cancer conference, with ~80% (~15,200) attending in person and ~20% (~3,800) attending virtually.
